A good, quiet 4 star resort We specifically chose Tropica because it was adults only and faced west so we would get the sunset. It is closer to Nadi than we usually stay, but we still took a helicopter there which was great - meant we had virtually a whole extra day there as our bure was ready when we arrived at about 11am.
It is a small resort so never felt busy. because of its location there is no service road round the back of the resort so when sitting out the front of our beach front bure at certain times of day there was a constant stream of staff or vehicles back and forth. For that reason, I would recommend staying in one of the bures behind the restaurant, as being beachfront wasn't that great - it is not a particularly stunning beach and there are no beach loungers/umbrellas etc.
The bures are quite plain and basically fitted out - no bathrobes or wine glasses (first world problem!) and no wifi, which for some is a blessing and worked well for us.
The Rejuvenation Package was great value and we chose not to by the Meal Package as in the past that has led to us overeating. In the end, we saved money doing that.
Some of the meals were fabulous, and none were bad. And as ever, the friendliness of the staff was wonderfully friendly.NZ549/23/2025Amazing experience Stunning location with breathtaking scenery! The real magic, though, is the people — Kitione, Ziggy, Mosese, Viri, and the whole team are simply amazing. There’s never a dull moment with so many activities happening all the time, yet it’s still the perfect place to relax. Can’t wait to come back!
Navigate255045885479/23/2025Outstanding experience! If you love snorkeling, this is your spot! We spent 12 days at Tropica and had an amazing time. The staff are very kind and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The snorkeling right off the beach is AMAZING. We had many "favorite" staff! They were all outstanding. The singing! They can REALLY sing! We were captivated each time they sang for us. The food is delicious and the rooms are comfortable and they provide whatever you need. There are many day trips available via resort boats and captains. We have snorkeled many different places and we were blown away by the snorkeling both at the resort and nearby. We really loved the Garden Reef Snorkel trip, Sandbar Snorkel trip and Cloud 9 day trip. You can see unique sea life and coral at each spot. We also did the Castaway Island day trip. It was really cool to see the site where the movie was filmed. I recommend watching it before you go if you haven't seen it. It changes the experience. Highly recommend the resort. If you are on the fence you will be glad you chose Tropica.
sdavisrn9/21/2025My husband and I just returned from 5 days at Tropica celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. If you are looking for somewhere to totally checkout from the world this is place to go. No tv’s, radios, wifi in rooms and best of all no kids.It is a place for total relaxation. Being a small resort it is not overcrowded so very easy to get a table at meal times.Only suggestion would be maybe some after dinner entertainment or activities.Staff are amazing. Big shout out to the only lady barmaid Leah for looking after Shane with his Fiji gold. Ziggy for the awesome happy hour entertainment. Seraphina for her beautiful smile and warm hugs at dinner time.Junior for his contagious smile and conversation.Beach water was warm everyday. Massages are divine and the view from the point is breathtakingIf you’re looking to do absolutely nothing on your holiday this is the place to go. We came home very relaxed and refreshed.Thank you to everyone.Sota tale xxxxTrudy Villani9/14/2025The most amazing , relaxing holiday ever! We had 10 days on the island and it was absolute bliss. The staff were beyond amazing and made you feel like you had not only come home but that you very much part of the family. The food was delicious and the sun shone every day to make you smile. The Bure was amazing with an outside shower that when you looked up the foliage of the trees above were just another beautiful experience. Snorkeling was amazing and you didn’t need to go out very far to see some inhabitants of the reef.

This is hands down one of the most beautiful and memorable hotels I have ever stayed at. It truly felt like an escape into nature. With only about 20 rooms, the atmosphere is intimate and private, making the whole experience feel extra special.
The staff made the biggest difference. Every single person greeted us by name each day and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The front desk team helped us organize everything, from booking tours and private dinner reservations to arranging our helicopter transportation. The hotel also included complimentary kayaks, snorkels, and paddle boards, which made exploring the water so much fun.
There’s no WiFi or TV’s in the rooms, which we loved, because it gave us a true chance to disconnect from distractions and just enjoy the beauty around us, but there is WiFi in the common areas. The food was always fresh and delicious, and every meal was amazing.
I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who made our stay so memorable and beautiful. Huge thanks to those we met in person and also to the amazing team working behind the scenes. Special thanks to Junior, Ziggy, Izzy, Susana, Sereina, Litia, Lia, Frances, Captain Joe, Lagi, Tito, Ili, Vi, and Viri. To the wonderful massage therapists Sereana and Cherry, and to the talented band Sunny, Tex, Sam, and Temo, and everyone else I forgot to mention, thank you for making our stay so special.
This hotel is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a serene getaway with personalized service, delicious food, and the kindest staff you could ever meet, this is the perfect place. The staff absolutely made the difference - including Sarafina, Litia, Laisa, Junior, Joe, David, and Sam (to name a few) - who all were so caring and friendly. There special attention and hospitality made us feel so at home. Thank you!
Karen B9/01/202510/10 honeymoon experience My husband and I came for 2 nights initially on our honeymoon and immediately decided to stay longer. The staff made us feel at home and were amazingly sweet and kind. Our bartender V knew what we wanted before we even knew. V’s drink were the perfect level of alcohol and had us feeling amazing our whole time here. He and the staff knew us by name and were very attentive, they by far made our trip 10/10. The resort and rooms were perfect for the intimate honeymoon vibes. The spa was just as incredible, the two massages and facials had me feeling like I was on cloud nine with their magical hands. I highly recommend the personal pool and outdoor shower too. We can’t wait to come back again and spend more time at Tropica.
Chelsie O8/22/2025Warm, inviting and wonderful We recently returned from a one week stay in the paradise that is Tropica Island Resort. We knew we were in for a treat when we were welcomed with song and hugs. Our oceanfront pool bure was spacious and very well equipped. The outdoor shower is a great touch. The staff there have obviously been trained to welcome everyone whenever they see them walking around. It’s a reflection of the resorts mission to provide a welcoming atmosphere that highlights Fijian hospitality. Everyone from the groundskeepers to the food servers to the bartenders to the spa workers went out of their way to make us feel at home and taken care of. We especially enjoyed our rejuvenation package which included a total of six massage treatments Wati and Quinie we’re wonderful. The breakfast were delicious and plentiful. Lunch by the pool was always great. Due to the dramatic rise and fall of the tides, the beach is not available for parts of the day. However, when the tide is out, there are wonderful seashells to be found. We spent most of our time by the pool, enjoying the calming music and swaying palm trees. It’s very true that the sun goes to sleep in Fiji. The sunset views are dramatic and fabulous. We have hundreds of pictures of the various sunsets we saw over the course of the week. Sunrise was also beautiful. Although we didn’t want to leave, another serenade and hug session from the staff, as we boarded, our boat, made the departure a bit easier In summary, we couldn’t recommend this place more. You can’t go wrong!
Charles P8/22/2025Adults only, easy to get to from main marina, Denarua, quiet, picturesque, amazing staff, geat room. Wanting to disconnect from modern rat race, eat well, superb panoramic islands views, safe swimming, fantastic personal attention by staff memorizing your name and likes within first day and no kids..then Tropica is the resort for you. We booked six nights, beachfront pool bure in August 2025. Large room, ultra quiet, shuttered windows, outside private shower, clean and modern. 40m stroll along flat path to pool and restaurant past the happy hour Lako Mai bar 5-6pm. Staff make you family all you have to do is be relaxed and interract. Viri, Latia, Amelia, Ziggy, Mosese, Laisa, Junior, Fina, Sonny, Izzie, Illie, you blessed us with your warmth and made every day a pleasure..Cocktails amazing, food plentiful, well cooked and bar open till last man standing. We are now on our second week in Fiji at a big luxury priced resort and struggling with crowd, dinner booking hassles, highly priced meals so next year its Tropica for us. Lee the GM made time each night to chat, even contract staff Troy was friendly and cared.
Mark m8/15/2025BulaI had a wonderful stay at this resort, and the staff were truly the highlight - friendly, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond. However, there were a few things that didn't quite meet my expectations. The breakfast didn't include espresso coffee, and if you wanted to order extra food, you had to pay extra, which felt a bit steep. The island itself is beautiful, but the coastline is rocky and there's no sandy beach, which was a bit of a disappointment, I imagined a bure on the white sand As for lunch and dinner, I wasn't blown away by the options - different tastes and preferences make it hard to please everyone, you need to pay at least 100$ pp for a 3 course dinner that is not to your liking. On the other hand, the massage package we booked was spectacular! The therapists were super professional, and the location was stunning. We also had a lovely picnic on the island near the resort, but I would suggest to chenge the beach for this beautiful experience Unfortunately, the beach near the resort was littered with trash, plastic bottles, and even abandoned appliances, which was a real shame.Despite these drawbacks, I'd still recommend this resort for its exceptional staff and beautiful surroundings. Next time, I'd consider a resort with buffet-style lunch and dinner options. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions about what they're looking for in a resort stay 🌴🏖️"VinakaMarika Suglia8/13/2025Ultimate Relaxation in Paradise The location, the accommodation, the staff, the food, the resort facilities Everything combined to make it the most relaxing holiday we've ever had! Oh and the cocktails! Vi the bartender, made the most delicious cocktails we've ever had, and we kept him busy making plenty of them! 😄 A holiday at Tropica Resort is like visiting your Fijian family 💖 The staff are so welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We've already booked to come back next year! The best holiday we've ever had! 🏝🍹🌺🌞💖
Lisa B8/03/2025Great resort to stay at but needs a little work on the quality control We loved our room- oceanfront pool Bure Room was clean and spacious.
Food - some meals were exceptional, some were overcooked, a bit hit and miss, some dry and burnt! Those meals were disappointing considering the cost. The pastries & breads, however, are made onsite and a definite must have!
Cocktails made by Junior or Amelia were so yummy. Other bar staff forgot to make our drinks or they arrived in extreme Fiji time.
The water sport & excursion team we generally unhelpful and seemed more interested in hanging in their work Bure than taking paying guests on excursions . Eg 28/8.. after a day of awful weather on the 27/8 and all activities cancelled many guests were keen to visit a village or a snorkelling trip on 28/8.. water sports team said it was too dangerous on the water, yet its was easily seen by the boat and watercraft activities none of the neighbouring resorts felt there was an issue. It was a nice calm day on the water.
We were told they are awaiting an appt of a new GM, hopefully someone can come in and work on the 1% issues and quality consistency to ensure a more overall experience for guests. It really comes down to a little quality control over the resort to reflect the $$$ per nightScenic400332346478/01/2025Already planning our next visit We have been home for nearly a month and can’t stop thinking about Tropica! We were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and relax. It was perfect. Stunning location. With only 24 rooms and all adults, it was exactly what we were after. The staff were so friendly and accomodating and by the end of the week most of them greeted us by name. We enjoyed the food, especially the breakfast with a great selection of pastries, beautiful fruit, a make your own juice bar and a selection of made to order cooked dishes. Our beachside Bure was very comfortable and felt special. Next time we want to try a private pool Bure. Couples spa treatments on the point with amazing views are a must. Dinner on the pier for a special celebration is a must. Paradise!
Amy D8/01/2025Top Notch Fiji Hotel One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Service top notch and staff even better. Greeted and left with local native songs and ceremony. Food excellent. Best in staff was our bar tender Amelia who made us drinks and delivered some of our food. She got to know us and pre made some of our drinks. SUPER kind lady and person. Rooms very clean, large and comfortable. Had our own outdoor shower and private pool. We will definitely go back when we revisit Fiji and Amelia.
